Alex has built, scaled and sold data companies for 20 years. Most recently, Alex served as Managing Director of Digital Investment Strategies, a proprietary investment fund deploying algorithmic trading strategies of financial derivatives. Before that, she worked with health care systems including Kaiser Permanente, New York City Health + Hospitals and Providence developing data-driven strategies for investment of more than $3 billion in social benefit giving. She started her career building the first open-data systems in the federal government with the EPA, FCC, Dept of Commerce and OMB.

DAN MCSWAIN

Dan has managed investments and strategy for philanthropic heavyweights across technology, culture, and organizing. Most recently, Dan co-founded Mente, a non-profit disrupting mental health care for young people. Before that, he was SVP of Strategy and Impact for Emma Bloomberg’s civic technology efforts and Chief Marketing Officer at Mapbox, a $1B+ location data company. Dan was part of President Barack Obama’s historic 2008 online fundraising team, and later led digital transformation at the Federal Communications Commission.
